Vocal Catastrophe

"You couldn't so much as taunt me with your elegant way of turning me down."
Words spoken into what tended to be thin air floated along with a slight wind escaping form the box fan in the window. What a delightful setting. Boy meets girl, girl turns boy down, boy is depressed, boy likes boys. If even a cliché, this was it.Escaping heavy lips these words were spoken over his bare shoulder into rather thin air. The room was dimly lit with only that of morning light. Who could have ever believed the silence in the room? He tried to break it, multiple times but it never once worked. It was like speaking into a dead phone line; or the person that starts speaking when you dial one-to-many numbers.
'Your call cannot be completed as dialed, please hang up and try again.'
'I love you.'
Silence was never so golden. If hearts were shaped as Disney cartoons made them out to be all would be beautiful in the world. But your heart is your ugliest organ. Forgive me for being frank. The air was stale, it was slightly heated. There was no need for clothes if you weren't modest but everyone is just a bit modest, aren't they? That makes means for old worn out blue jeans and beanies that hold back too long for summer hair. Words crashed into the ground, the warning light from the plane called light never flashing on. He was speaking to no one.
Arms hugged onto his bare torso, but it wasn't the same. This tended to happen a lot, burnt out and broken down. Black hair poked out from under his black and red stripped beanie, the shatty locks twisting this way and that. Rosy lips were set out against a semi tan face and blue eyes were finally closed as he gave up once more. It was just a darn shame that Jacob had to do this to himself again.Hands reached up and took hold of the top of his heave, shoving it against the knees that had been brought to his chest. A bout of depression followed by anger.
"Jacob? Am I interrupting something?"
"Huh? What? Oh...no."
"Oh...well...Jacob."
"Yes?"
"I think I love you."
This wasn't the first time that Jacob's roommate had confessed her love for the boy. No, it was more like the fifteenth million. Jacob looked up, rolling his eyes. He was just annoyed by this. Though he always noted that Kade smelled so nice, and all her clothes fit her perfectly, and she was just so...intoxicating...to be around. Jacob just never took these petty attempts seriously.
"Again?" Jacob asked, semi-annoyed.
"Yes." Kade replied, chewing on her bottom lip.
"Why?"
"Because, I just do."
